Digital Trust Professional® (DTP®) NCSC Cyber Assessment Framework (CAF) Foundation Certificate

The UK's National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC) Cyber Assessment Framework (CAF) provides a systematic approach to assessing the extent to which cyber risks are being managed.

 

It is aimed at helping organisations achieve and demonstrate appropriate levels of cyber resilience to ensure organisational success.

 

Primarily aimed at organisations subject to Network and Information Systems (NIS) Regulations, organisations within Critical National Infrastructure (CNI), organisations managing cyber risk to public safety and public sector organisations that support core government functions, the design and approach contained within the framework is flexible enough to benefit all organisations, private sector and public sector, seeking to continually improve their cyber resilience capabilities.

The framework helps organisations to keep pace with evolving cyber threats and regulatory expectations, ultimately contributing to national cyber security resilience.

The framework consists of  4 high-level objectives and 14 principles which together help organisations understand levels of cyber risk and opportunity and, when effectively implemented, help to improve decision making and reduce the likelihood and impact of a cyber attack.

Extensive guidance, indicators of good practice for each outcome, and reference to additional industry good practice frameworks/standards are embedded within the NCSC CAF, providing organisations with an easy to understand, efficient, effective framework for improving cyber resilience in any organisation.

This 2-day, instructor led Digital Trust Professional® (DTP®) NCSC CAF Foundation Certificate is designed to give participants a thorough understanding of the UK NCSC Cyber Assessment Framework at a foundational level, focusing on both theoretical knowledge and considerations for practical application.

Course Learning Outcomes:

On completion of the Digital Trust Professional® (DTP®) NCSC CAF Foundation Certificate participants will be able to:

  • Understand the structure, purpose of intent of the NCSC CAF

  • Describe the objectives and principles contained within the NCSC CAF

  • Understand the importance of risk management within the NCSC CAF

  • Understand considerations for the adoption of the NCSC CAF

  • Explain similarities between the NCSC CAF and other commonly used business improvement, risk management and control frameworks

  • Understand how the NCSC CAF enables improved cyber resilience

  • Understand the NCSC Cyber Resilience Audit Scheme ecosystem and objectives

Prerequisites

There are no prerequisites for this Foundation level course. The course is suitable for all employees at all levels.
